Can an incorrectly activated and burnt-tasting Elfa Pod still be salvaged?

Hi!

I have an Elfa reusable Elfbar and today I changed the pod as usual, but I only pushed the bottom piece in halfway, and now the pod tastes burnt, even with the bottom pushed all the way in. Can the pod still be salvaged? Will it eventually stop tasting burnt, or do I have to throw it away?

rather not.
The burnt taste comes from the carburized cotton on the coil, which was probably not completely soaked with liquid.
The taste will no longer disappear, at most overtone the intensive (and overdosed) liquid.

You’ll just get this out when you change the cotton. And these disposable pods are not intended for this.
(Self-winders or pods with separately replaceable coils are somewhat cheaper here. Especially with self-winders everything is open and you can exchange exactly what is consumed.)
