Never possessed one, but all the “old” Passats from 32A and 32B drove over 35i to including 3BG, which were all good and the newer models are generally not bad. As a rule, the VW Passat is an economical, universally usable and relatively robust vehicle, with which the “normal” driver can usually get to grips right now – while operating, handling and driving feel are not specific, but really wrong, as a buyer of a well-maintained passport, one does not make a serious possession. The characteristics of the Passat have always been good medium – neither really super nor really bad, but they are always very balanced cars without very rough vulnerabilities, ideal family cars.

Certain motors and the DSG transmission should be avoided due to quality problems and there are also cheating diesel, otherwise the Passat is ok – a typical mid-range car for Otto normal consumers and in the entertainment priced within the framework.

Depends on which one.

The old Nose Bear Passat (so called because without a radiator grille) with 1.8 petrol engine was a real long-term car not to break, as was the following facelift variant (with a grill).

But later during the Ferdinand Piech era, when one (or he) meant with hundreds of sticks measured gap dimensions would be more important than anything else around the world was lost much of this property.

High oil consumption, piston ridge fractures, control chain scandal in the gasoline, diesel scandal, DSG flare, what else to count??

I would choose a well-preserved Toyota Avensis, God doesn’t know a passion!

A good friend of mine had one. It was built in 2006 and had strong rust problems. The Led lights are broken with the years. Soft varnishes are not durable and white already after 80,000km strong wear on. Pixel error in the display. Bushes are relatively fast.

He then quickly exchanged it for a Toyota Avensis. Despite 280,000km, the inside was still very good. He has no problems except for service work and obscurity. And now he’s got 450.000km.

I’ve been driving school in a couple of years ago. It’s been a good car, joa.

Depends on what you expect from your car.

Rost likes to be a problem with the Passat especially if before 2005 the engines are better especially the 1.9 TDI but it comes to the previous owner is a bread and butter car

It’s a good car.

It has plenty of space and drives forever.

A solid combi with plenty of space and does not need so expensive.
