To use a Mac for it would be total madness. Neither inventory, nor solid work, nor CATIA, or any other big CAD program there are for Mac, all running on Windows. Why? Apple does NOT offer CAD graphics cards in their Macs. Not even in the thickest Mac Pro there is even a GraKa option that is not Apple Silicon. Things are simply not designed to be machines for image and video processing but not for CAD.
Look for a brought HP EliteBook or the like.
intel macbook air devices are basically relatively lame and are highly unsuitable for working outside the browser or office programs.
I don’t know this inventor, but best to get a more recent macbook air with m1/m2/m3, also like used and best one with 16 gb ram
on the manufacturer’s side, the minimum specifications are given with 16 gb and a recommendation of up to 64 gb is pronounced. with an 8 gb model you can’t get far

Is there any inventor version for Mac? I’m just looking at VMs. And I wouldn’t use that.
In any case, minimum requirement 16gb ram.
In my opinion, it’s bullshit to buy an Intel MacBook – at least if you buy it for the laptop and not just to have a laptop with macOS. If MacBook then uses Apple silicone. Or you just buy Windows.
And if you think you need inventors just like that or so Windows.
BootCamp does not run on Apple Silicon anymore because the ARM axle structure is used there for which there is no Windows variant, that is all for x64.
That’s right, VMs are still running – bootcamp is not a VM.
As said, Apple silicone (if inventor isn’t that important) or a Windows laptop. I wouldn’t recommend anything else.
You’re right. But I would still not take an Apple product because no CAD graphics cards are available. With these, the compatibility is simply guaranteed and even ancient CAD cards run smoothly. My 12-year-old Elitebook is perfectly compatible with current CAD systems. Here only someone wants an excuse for a pretty Apple product;)
With 8GB RAM you won’t get far and the CPU is also more meh. Does it have to be Apple?
For me it would be more practical for school
Then you will have to plan much more money, especially as Inventor does not run natively on Apple Silicon
I’ll put the question:
“I want to get an expensive device without having to pay expensive.”
“A vicious circle!”
(I hope that’s enough as a wink with a stake!)
