Engineering sciences are among the heavy subjects, the STEM subjects. The example of Spain shows that, according to the German breakdown of courses, one is not yet at the limit: There is the civil engineering, at least the construction, not an own degree course, but part of the architecture. D.H. Architects design and design not only as with us, but calculate the strength of the construction structures themselves. An ex-girlfriend of me from the German school Barclona was an architectural professor at the UPC (Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya), and I was a shipbuilding engineer when I heard them in a professional way. Unfortunately, it has recently passed away.

Hobbies do not need to be stressed in such a study, the study IST your hobby, and 24/7 is not possible at all, then you have to sleep enough and get down in the 2 hours before sleep. It’s a bad study.

If you have such fears before studying, it may be better to start training. A study requires passion. While you are studying, studying is your profession and more, it can and should be appealing. You have to expect an effort of at least 50h/week, approximately divided into 50% material acquisition and 50% work-up/training etc.

According to my experience, which has been a little longer, most students in engineering do not fail in higher mathematics, but in technical mechanics (TM; the abbreviation can also stand for theoretical mechanics). Here, the mathematical foundations that are learned in higher mathematics are tried out on practical questions.

you will find an example study plan. Otherwise, I would recommend you to speak with students of civil engineering at your preferred university. The department is there.

Consider the hobbies are optional, but study is your profession. On the other hand, during my STudium I also managed to play volleyball and my beloved computer games certainly did not come too short.
