Is this really a tumor?
Hi, we went to the doctor about this and he just looked at it for a millisecond and said, yeah, tumor and bye, it still had a groove. The dermatologist didn't give an appointment until August and I wanted to get a few opinions on it. Does anyone know what they're talking about there who can say whether it looks like a tumor and whether it's benign or malignant? He's had it for about five days and it started like a pimple. If it's a tumor, then it's probably not a good idea to let it grow until August, or am I wrong?
Kind regards, Stefan
Tumor means swelling. I don't know why people call it cancer. In the photo, you can see a dark spot, nothing concrete. It looks more like a scab from a scratched mosquito bite.
Thanks for your answer. It's like a bump, about—let me lie—5 mm, reddened around it, and in the middle, you can see the black/yellowish color. What also worries me is that certain images, when you google "squamous cell carcinoma," look quite similar.
Then that's a question for a doctor who can look into it.
A tumor is essentially just a swelling. Whether it is benign or not can be determined through further diagnostics.
A tumor simply means an increase in size and doesn't provide any information about whether it's benign or malignant. Therefore, wait for your dermatologist appointment. If you'd like to see your dermatologist sooner, you can ask your health insurance provider for an appointment service, but you may have to travel further.
