Is this a sign of a lack of empathy (example: Solingen, attack)?

Hello dear community

I'm addressing a rather difficult topic here.

I wonder if it's a sign of a lack of empathy when you hear about what happened in Solingen on the news and simply don't feel anything. No anger, sadness, fear, horror, etc. In other words, what is always communicated, at least verbally, is what people would feel.

I think it's bad from a rational point of view what happened there, but I don't feel anything when I see it on TV or hear about it.

But that has nothing to do with Solingen, it's the same with all sorts of other events that you hear about in the news. It just doesn't affect me. It's not that different with people I know personally.

I wonder if this is a sign of a lack of empathy or if there is something else behind it and how you feel about such messages

Are other people, including politicians, just feigning these feelings or do they actually feel something different than I do?

I would like you to respond to this objectively.

Likewise, I do not want to start a political discussion here, this is a purely psychological question

Hi… so it’s very noticeable; on social networks, in conversations with friends etc – so I’m watching that it’s hard for people to be busy when something happens. We also used to have isolated amoks, for example, at schools that have been seriously affected – but I also realise that the mood is just different than that at that time. Significantly more restless, clearly diffuser – formerly the concern was the “mobbing sacrifice” of the class, today a large part of our population seems somehow potentially dangerous (and let us be honest: for Otto-Normal citizens not at all delimitable; especially since the entanglement/ encounter with Muslim faith has never occurred, that has remained extremely strange and most hostility is also directed against this faith)… Long story short: yes, fear is there.

ABER: It can be clear that individuals do not fully perceive it. And that can have different causes – on the one hand, because you may find yourself immortal (so that sounds too ironic, but actually so: young people do not believe in being able to be met by such a fate); At the same time you have little to lose (i.e., it is different when you have children) and again it can be that fear is there, but you cannot reflect it at all (destruction)… So I wouldn’t talk about epmathie loss…

It is not politically correct not to be affected. This is not a question of the party or politics. All good leaders to the head of the company and the president of the club must show empathy. Whether they feel them. Unfortunately, you can only be quite authentic.

What would happen if a politician would say correctly: “This is a rare individual case. This may happen once or twice a year. Sad, but not to prevent. We have problems other than three additional deaths on a day when around 30,000 people die every day in Germany. ‘

So? Shitstorm? Yes, of course.

You won’t be a successful politician if you don’t play the keyboard of trouble. The secret is so that it looks authentic. For example, Habeck has better ́drauf than Scholz or Merz. But then it must not be too much again as Claudia Roth.

So, you have to:

  • be adequately affected, but not too much. Serious face, but no tears.
  • show action and threaten not only with the hardness of the law, but also sharpen it
  • Predicting lack of empathy or unnecessary actionism to the political opponent

I myself am an extremely helpful and nice person. You don’t feel anything is normal. Countless people die every day.

That’s it. You’re a rational person.

But that has nothing to do with solingen now, even in all sorts of other events that you get from the news, it just doesn’t in people I know personally this is not so much different

So to understand: You don’t feel anything with people close to you?

If so, go to your family doctor and talk to him. Don’t give you remote diagnostics! Your non-reaction can be pure protection!

Reason – empathy should belong to being human.

The feelings determine what our politicians are, at least as long as there is a camera….

Basically, they are not much better than the terrorists. They take us out and rejoice our pension fund. I am curious how those in 10 years want to pay a pension from which you can live halfway….then the Lynch-Mob moves towards Berlin

This will indeed be a lack of empathy or lack of empathy – especially if you feel nothing when you suffer well-known people.

No, this is the complete missing one.
