Is there any way to apply for the construction of traffic lights?

I know of a place like that's crossed by a busy road, which is problematic because the nearest traffic light is a bit out of town and practically nowhere (there are community gardens on one side and a field on the other). So, to cross the road safely, you have to go out of town, over the traffic lights, and back again, which can take a few minutes. I find the whole thing completely unacceptable and would therefore like to ensure that there are traffic lights or at least a zebra crossing in the town center. It's also a problem for cyclists, as you can only use the cycle path in one direction, and then you either have to ride on the road or push your bike.

Is there any way to apply for the construction of something like this and how likely is it that it will actually be built?

To the next time, it would have to be clarified what this is for a road that leads through the place. Depending on whether it is a circle, country or federal road, here is the circle, the country or the covenant.

Drum together a few people who have a legitimate instinct at a traffic light. then it prescribes to the municipality. They also know who to turn to ask for a traffic light.

I'd ask the mayor's office. However, since the construction and operation of a traffic light system are expensive, I consider it extremely unlikely that such an application – especially if it is not submitted by a resident – will be implemented. Such decisions are very carefully examined.

Let's look at how it looks like everywhere someone thinks it's useful to put a traffic light. Have fun.

Is it possible to ask for a traffic light?

Actually, you can't.

Many conditions have to be fulfilled for the construction of transport measures, and the mere desire of a citizen does not count.

What conditions?

I'm not going to look out for you now, but it has to do with traffic density, number of tracks per direction of travel, speed traveled, visibility… etc.

There are also some traffic lights that are simply in nothing or stand

And these traffic lights will certainly meet the conditions necessary for the construction.

As already mentioned, there will be something different that justifies the construction of his time.

Either you drive faster or there are more lanes or there's an old home or kindergarten nearby or there are no street lights or there's a curve or there's parking on the side or there was an accident center before or it's financed on a road and thus from the country…. or or…
