Is there a test for autism?
Hello, I've had the feeling for a while that I'm very different in certain situations or react differently than people my age, and that I also perceive things differently, such as other people's behavior. And I was wondering if there's a way to test whether this is autism or something else entirely? Would I just need to see a psychologist, or is there a proper test for it? I was curious. Thanks.
the psychologist makes a special test for it with you
you can also do online tests to get such a basic feeling for where you stand. So this does not replace a real diagnosis, where long talks with you are conducted, etc.
But can give you a rough overview
Such tests are complicated because autism can have many different forms and these can easily be confused with other disturbances.
That’s why you shouldn’t turn to some psychotherapists, but to a psychiatrist with appropriate expertise or an autism competence center. If one cannot carry out a diagnosis in such a consultancy, they have addresses of professionals who can do this.

There are autism centers, but they’re booked out for years.
Psychologists carry out these tests. Tests on the Internet are neither meaningful nor serious.
