Is there a good budget joystick for the MSFS2020?
Hello,
I've been a sim pilot for half a year. Playing with a controller on PC has always been too sensitive and uncomfortable for me, regardless of the sensitivity settings. That's why I'm considering buying a joystick. I'm ruling out the yoke altogether. I have two options: the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotax X and the TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition. The first is currently reduced to around €55 (down from €90), and the second is €70 without a sale. The Hotax X has a throttle like in a fighter jet (not entirely realistic, of course) and a joystick or sidestick. Unfortunately, I'm left-handed, so I'd only deduct one small point (the controls are on the left and the joystick on the right. Both are designed to be mounted together, but can also be detached. But then the controls would be in the wrong position because they're slightly curved to better fit the left hand.). It's really not that big of a problem, but as I said, it's just a shame. The TCA doesn't have a proper controller for this, just a small wheel behind the stick. But in terms of functionality, I don't know which is better. I don't always fly Airbuses; I sometimes fly propeller planes, Boeings, and often fighter jets. I also often fly in other games, like War Thunder.
I want to know your arguments.
You can buy the TCA and throttle yourself. Depending on the aircraft you fly, it makes sense to invest in the "Airbus hardware." Personally, I only fly the A320 family in MSFS, so I only have Airbus hardware. The sidestick is extremely realistic (I compared it to the real thing, and they both feel very similar in the hand). If you say you fly more Boeing or G/A aircraft, the HOTAS might also be sufficient.

For me, it's not about how realistic the TCA is, but rather about its performance. I don't care about its use either; I can fly quite well with HOTAS in the A320 and vice versa with the TCA in GA aircraft. What's important to me is what's more precise or better.
The TCA is much more precise. MFG
