Is the normal range for x1 correct?

My question is about the set that says x1^2+x2^2 <= 3 and that this set should be represented as a normal range in Cartesian coordinates and that x1 = [-3,0] but the 3 is R^2 and R shouldn't x1 = [-root of 3,0] or am I confused myself?

I see that too. Looks like the root was just forgotten.
