Is that a mosquito?

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me if this is a type of mosquito? And if not, does anyone know what kind of insect it is?
We have quite a few of them in our apartment. Since we live on an avenue with very tall trees, I think that's where they could be coming from…

Thank you very much in advance! 🙂

I’m the most honored at the window mosquitoes.

These mosquitoes don’t stab and bite.

Development:

The adult mosquitoes fly all year round. The males dance in swarms in dusk and the females fly to pair (see
Figure 2) into these swarms. The mosquitoes also penetrate into apartments and often sit on the window. But they do not sting and are not harmful. Their larvae develop in rotten substances, often also in rotten potatoes.

Nutrition:

Larvae feed on lazy substances.
