Is it worth switching to Gaesdonck?
Hello, I'm 15 years old and currently in 9th grade. On my last report card, I had a 1.8 average. I'm actually doing quite well in school. Unfortunately, math is a relatively big problem for me. I get tutoring before math tests and always stress myself out unnecessarily! I even almost had a panic attack recently…
I would like to transfer to Gaesdonck. I've been thinking about it for some time (since about the beginning of 2021) and have made up my mind. I want to transfer to the upper secondary school, so I'll spend the last three years there.
I think I would receive more support there, which would give me a better chance of getting better grades. I have the independence to work with, but I sometimes lack motivation in my current learning environment. Gaesdonck also has libraries and other nice learning spaces. I would also enjoy the various extracurricular activities, which would make a good impression on my resume.
I'm on the student council, I'm class representative, I've been voted the most social student in the class several times, and I always help out with special activities. For example, the open day, the Christmas school fair, and the meet-and-greet day for the new fifth graders. I'm very social and help out wherever I can.
My question now is whether I'd have a chance at Gaesdonck, or whether changing schools would be difficult for me, since Gaesdonck has a different level. Is it worth it? Would they accept me with this grade, and would it be more motivating?
