Is it possible to build a nextcloud server on an existing web server?
hey dear users,
I have converted my laptop into a home web server but would also like to build a cloud service similar to One Drive, etc.
Unfortunately, I have only found tutorials so far that show how to build a cloud server without an existing web server.
I got an error in the Linux terminal saying that the nextcloud server cannot be set up because the IP address is already in use.
what should I do?
is it even possible?
and if so, are there any tutorials?
Thank you in advance 🙂
Look at this guide https://www.c-rieger.de/nextcloud installation instructions/
will I make, thanks
Basically, you just need to configure the Nextcloud accordingly.
On their homepage there are also tutorials to set up the whole.
But I would like to remind you that the laptop is not exactly safe for the data when the 24/7 runs. So there’s a risk too high that the data is gone in a hard drive failure.
Thanks for the info, I’m looking at this and the data don’t stay in the cloud, I already ordered a hard drive to create a backup
You might have started a bit inadvertently or run an earlier project? Look which servers are just listening to which addresses and ports.
Veillightly the error is not in the Nextcloud setup but it is just another service in the way.
Must be the web server(apache2)
