Is it okay to brush a horse's tail?

Hello, I wanted to ask what you think about "brushing the tail with a brush"? At all the previous stables where I've ridden, we always combed the tail. Recently, I was at a private stable and was yelled at so loudly that I wasn't allowed to brush the tail, but rather to pick it out. What is the correct way to do this?

Hello!

Both are not wrong! But everyone makes it different 🙂

When I use male spray, I usually go well with a root brush over it.

Otherwise, I always comb the silence.

Love greetings

So I've always combed the tail of my horses. I always turn the upper part in order not to tear out hair as much as possible and, if necessary, some silence spray comes in. No one has died and thinned yet.

Largest dirt and knots are read, the tail is sprayed in and then carefully combed out from bottom to top.

I'll brush my horses' tail. I'll spray it before, and then turn it in and comb it from top to bottom

With us at the stable, the whipmen have strict prohibition of combing or brushing the tail of ponies and horses. You are required to read only the respective silence. So pour straw and dirt out and gently remove the tail strands for strands.

If you brush the children and adolescents, the horses and ponies would not have half of their long hair in the end. For if one brushes in improper or invalid, the horse quickly fills too much hair. And in the end, there's no one beautiful. And, what is also important: the less tail hair, the more ineffective in summer the attempts to scare flies.

I already brush my gelding his tail – but very carefully and carefully – for the above reasons.

what you do with your IGEN horse is no matter, scold it if you keep brushing it or combing it and see how it must suffer from mosquitoes etc…

The hair of the horses is, in principle, rather than HAnd cautiously a few mules in the year "read", some Kalt blossoms or HAlbschläger have soooo much hair that it does not come to 100 more or less, but the higher-blooded the horse, the sensitive is the hair of the LAng! the easier it falls/throws out.

My advice: carefully unravel and smooth and only read in May or June once by HaND!

DA's long hair is for the horse weather and insects protection!

I always brush the (almost) but always make spray. However, self-made (I do not brush every day)

Many hairs I never tear out, and none of my horses have made the tail thinner or broken.

I don't just rattle it. I lower the pieces already into smaller pieces and turn the upper piece.

Hello,

both are right.

When reading out, you can tear out less hair and it is more pleasant for the horse. With hairspray should also comb no problem. I'll do both with my horses, depending on time.

Greetings😊

I'm always just reading out because you're already ripping hair through your brush. When I go on tournament or it's another “special” Occasionally, I comb the hair through using a lot of whistle spray and still oil dark/black tail with baby oil so that it shines 😊

Right is always what the respective owner thinks right. It is clear that when brushing or combing, even when you “turn” the hair, more hair 3 are lost than when reading it. Depends on how much value is placed on “a lot of tail”, because the growth lasts 10 years.

read is correct.

when everyone brushes the tail, there's nothing left to brush.

oh yes – there are comb spray… stinks, is full of chemicals and the silicone and acrylate ensures that the new dirt is super sticky…

You can gently brush the tail down, but I'd rather read it up.

You can do both.

Neither is wrong

Everyone does it differently.

Right is what the horse owner wants.
