Is it normal that I have arachnophobia?

It is late summer and very warm, the time for spiders. The spiders had mated, then children came along who learned to jump or fly in order to pull threads. This is unfortunately a nightmare for phobics, not just spider webs or webs, but also arachnids. It has been happening ever since my kindergarten days when other children pushed me towards a hedge (full of cobwebs) and I landed on the hedge. That's why I've become one of them and would like to know if it's normal. I don't know if there are other people who walk around with feather dusters or umbrellas. I know it's silly, but the protective armor for phobics, who use feather dusters or other objects to shield themselves (cover themselves) from threads or webs. I walk with them too, but only when it gets to that extreme. Not on the street, only in my garden, because otherwise it's silly.

Phobias in general are common but usually irrational and not normal. Have you ever thought about making a therapy to live without the fear or at least better deal with it?

I don't like the animals in my immediate vicinity, but I usually try to get them out. They don't bother me there.

Inside the apartment, most often regulates my cat square 😉

Every phobia is a deviation from normal human behavior!

Right, I've captured spiders with others and then exposed them somewhere!

Thank you for the thank you! This is certainly what you have already discovered:

There are also possibilities for treatment, as here as well:

As a child, also kindergarten age, I stumbled while playing in the high grass and landed with the face directly in front of a huge wasp spider in their net. I've been afraid of spiders since. Just before that I have always fascinated the cross spider in the fir next to our terrace but after the fall it was over and I was afraid.

At the latest in my own apartment, I had to get clear with it and get ready with the spiders alone. In the cellar I am always only armed with a broom (until my husband and I have really cleaned up).

On the road or in the forest or in the beer garden I have nothing to do with it, but avoid sitting near the hedge or walking and try not to come into contact with the disgusting nets. I can handle small spiders myself (= crush) and don't panic anymore as long as they don't touch me. In large copies, my husband and the vacuum cleaner have to answer.

Basically, I fought up to a certain degree against the phobia and restricted it so that it doesn't limit me too much.

The fear itself isn't that bad, but it's bad or sad if you let too much control of her and so it reads for me if you only wear yourself armed with dust or umbrella outside. Please try not to let you be too much dominated by fear, in doubt by means of behavioral therapy. You don't have to go so far as to take the beasts on your hands but at least don't live in fear all the time.
