Is it normal for a hedgehog to be so trusting?
I'm currently smoking in front of the front door, taking our cat with me on the stairs.
Suddenly that hedgehog appears again.
I think it's been helping itself to our cat's food bowl every now and then for three years now… Somehow it doesn't seem to bother the cat anymore.
But right now it came all the way to my feet and even nudged me with its nose.
I think it's normal that it loses its fear of people a little after three years.
But so trusting?
Is this normal? And would/could it be tamed to the point where it would eat from your hand?
Please do not feed out of your hand, it is and remains a wild animal. He knows what's going on with you, and of course he also serves, some specimens are braver and others are not, but you should distance yourself from the tame.
It's rather unusual, he's just had good experiences so far.
But I wouldn't go any further, not every person is so animal love…
A certain distance to man should keep the little quiet I find.
hedgehogs lose their barn when there is an extreme lack of feed. Dreamy landscapes combined with dry-hot summers are a disaster for them. Feeding with cat-wet food (in the evening) is very helpful for hedgehogs. A flat bowl with fresh water is also important.
Even at night, hedgehogs eat the grubs coming out of bio bins.
He's already fed. You can't do much more because you can't teach him any tricks. He'll always be a wild animal. His confidence has arisen because he has not had bad experiences with you and that is great.
He wants to be stroked
