Is it an exceptional linguistic talent?

Is it unusual to learn Mandarin without a teacher and after 1 1/2 years be able to form sentences (basic) on your own and then be able to hold a conversation?

I definitely think it’s great! It depends on many factors how much time you have invested in how complex the sentences are, and whether they are correct, or only understandable, but with errors

But only that you get it from your own motivation and without instructions, I find a respectable performance!

I speak four foreign languages, also professionally, but I have too much respect for Mandarin – I do not dare to

So hat off in front of you and continue so👍🙂

I’m learning Japanese. Is a bit lighter, but yes. Finds normal. 🤷🏻 ♀️

做 eccentric !!

You can be proud of yourself!

Chinese is a very difficult language and you need a lot of patience (I even say it as half Chinese)

I took a very long time to memorize the Chinese characters, as I also learned my other mother tongue (Korean) as a child.

Keep going!
