Is it allowed to sit cross-legged in a car?

Are you allowed to sit cross-legged or in another position while driving, as a passenger or something, as long as you're wearing your seatbelt? Or do you always have to keep your feet in the footwell?

In principle this is permitted.

However, it is not advisable as this will impair the effectiveness of the belt.

If you don't have to drive, you can sit however you want. The main thing is that you can wear your seat belt!

Not that I know of. I also like to ride barefoot in the summer. The insurance company may see it differently, but the law does.

If you operate the pedals correctly, namely with the ball of your foot, you'll have more control rather than less. 😏

That's how I do it.

I don't have to change gears. It's a nice feeling.

If you don't do it this way, you'll just stop doing it, because it will quickly become very unpleasant.

Unlike the driver, the passenger is allowed to do so. While sitting in your position, they only need to ensure they comply with the legal regulations. This includes, for example, being able to fasten your seatbelt.

I don't think something like that is forbidden.

It would still be stupid, though, because with such a posture you risk significantly more serious injuries in the event of an accident.

If I were the driver and you were sitting cross-legged or something like that, I would ask you to adopt a friendly posture or stop and ask you to get out.

According to the list of fines, it's not illegal, but probably not recommended for safety reasons. Girls and young women, in particular, like to sit this way in cars.

It is not prohibited by law, but it is critical in the event of an accident.

Your feet belong in the footwell. Otherwise, you risk serious injuries in an accident.

Yes, you can. Whether it makes sense is something everyone has to decide for themselves.

On replay… Sit normally. You can sit cross-legged when you're at home. Is that clear? 😡

No, sorry 😞
