In the usual meaning of the word light source not no.

However, current can be converted to electromagnetic waves.

It can be. But I’m not sure the current flowing through a ladder. Electromagnetic radiation. Then the current flow would also be a light source in the widest sense. Only it is not visible. And usually we mean with light everything from infrared to ultraviolet.

It depends!

Current is flowing charge carriers, usually electrons. They don’t shine themselves.
But all lighting effects involve electrons that change their energy level. These are electron transitions in atoms. So they could be called nuclear internal currents.

This happens when illuminating an incandescent filament of an incandescent lamp (solid), in LEDs (semiconductor solid body) or in gases (weather flashes, neon tubes and other gas discharge lamps)

No not necessarily, it can be converted.

You can call it from me: “smooth light”. That sounds much more exciting. 😂🤔

However, it does not necessarily have to be used for generating light.

Wood is not a fire either. 😂

So in bulbs is power NO light source. Electricity only warms up these. The hot wire is a light source.

But when cathode rays, moving electrons, hit anode and release brake jet bubbles, cause a glowing light, then current = moving electrons is directly a light source.

In lightning, this effect is also present, but the all-emistic light is generated by the heat, as in the light bulb.

In LEDs, it is actually the movement of the electrons in the material that directly generates light. Here, therefore, current is an at least indirect light source.

Electricity cannot generate light without a special medium.

Electricity supplies the energy, but the source is the light.

Light comes from a light source. Sun, lightning, lightning worms, lamp, picture tube…

No, I think light is photons. And electricity goes with electrons.

Electricity does not light

A corona or an overthrow can give, however, if one observes a substation 🙂

What do you think the power is a light source?
