Is Ciscutan usable after opening?

Hello, dear Good Question community.

I used to take Ciscutan regularly about a year ago and then stopped my treatment. Now I'm taking it again, but I missed my last appointment to get a new prescription. I was supposed to go today, but I got sick and couldn't go.

Now to my problem. I still have one capsule from the fresh pack, which I'll take this evening. However, I still have a pack from my last treatment, which I could theoretically use, but I'm not sure if it's still good.

The package states that the expiration date is November 2024. The package insert states that this refers to the last day of that month. However, the medication has already been opened. Does that still apply?

Before anyone says that I could certainly go tomorrow, yes, but they are only open for a very short time tomorrow, as well as on Wednesday, and I would have to go during school term time.

What do you think? Can I take them like this?

For tablets individually packed in a blister, the date on the pack applies. This isn't shortened from the start.

As long as the dry, light-protected and stored under 25° you can still use it this month

As long as they have been stored dry, protected from light and cool, the old pack should still be in order. But look beforehand whether they have turned or what has expired – then please don't take any more. It can only be that they lose some effect over time, which is not harmful in itself.

Then it'll be okay if it didn't have 30 degrees in the summer.

That's what I'm talking about, that the pills are not effective. Maybe, but it doesn't. Since the effectiveness of the drug can be reduced and does not achieve the desired effect as desired – this could extend the treatment if you take the tablets in the long term. Not a problem for the one time. The drug is not poisonous due to a loss of effect, but no longer acts as intensive, which is by no means dangerous.
