Is a wireless mouse or a wired mouse better?

I just read that they're supposed to not last long; my wired mouse has lasted for 6 years.

It always depends on your own perception and the intended use.

If you ask a gamer, they will usually tell you that wired is better because the latency is lower, etc.

It really depends on what suits you better. I personally play games every now and then, but I don't care about things like latency because I primarily work with the devices and place more value on comfort. I want to use as few cables as possible in my setups because of the look and flexibility when using the devices.

The lifespan of a wireless mouse can be shorter, but it doesn't have to be. It all depends on whether it has a built-in rechargeable battery or uses batteries, how often/long the mouse is used or just stored, and the quality of the battery. With a cheap Chinese wireless mouse, it's entirely possible that the wireless receiver will eventually give up the ghost or the battery will eventually die (it's happened to me, too). Conversely, if you buy a high-quality mouse like a Logitech MX 3S or similar, you'll probably have fewer problems (but with technology, things can always happen that we as humans can't control).

In my experience, I've never experienced any real difference in durability between wired and wireless.

Poling rate/latency has so far been the only performance consideration in e-sports titles, besides weight. Current wireless mice from reputable manufacturers are in no way inferior to wired mice in these aspects.

So it ultimately depends on your personal preference.

Personally, I currently have everything wired except for my headset and controller. However, I'll be replacing my G502 with a wireless mouse in a year or two.

No, after 70 days you have to recharge it (or change the battery).

Purely a matter of taste.
Personally, I prefer wired mice (and keyboards). With cordless devices, I usually have the problem that the battery dies when you're not using it. And batteries usually run out when you don't have a spare at home.

Depends. You need one that has a response time of 1 millisecond has.

Then a wireless mouse is absolutely acceptable and has no disadvantages compared to a wired mouse.

Of course, there are wireless mice that don't meet this criterion. In those cases, a wired one is better.

I always use a wired mouse, in combination with a mouse bungee, so I don't have to charge it and the cable doesn't get in the way. 😋😅

I find it very annoying when a cable is attached to my mouse. I need freedom of movement. I'd rather invest in a new mouse every few years.

I don't have a mouse at home. The wireless ones at work are still pretty new. But a friend has had hers for about ten years (a Logitech one), and it still works.

Cable is better for me, it depends on whether it is for a laptop to work that you often take with you, as a cable is often annoying

My Tecknet Alpha has been working wirelessly for five years. I've only switched to a corded mouse for CAD applications.

I've been using the Razer Basilisk Ultimate for two years. It's still working great, but I have no idea how long it will last.

Well, I hate it when there's another cable.

Oh no. For ages. I guess about 5 years.
