Is 1 hour of language lessons per week enough?
Hello,
I would like to learn Russian outside of school.
One hour of private lessons costs 36 euros
Do you think if I take one hour per week and prepare and follow up well, that'll be enough? Or two hours per week? But that would be €250 per month. I can afford it, but it has to be worth it. What do you recommend?

Would go to the Volkshochschule. When the course takes place, the groups are probably so small that it is almost like single lessons. And costs much less.
I just looked at it, then you’re 4 days and you’re 200 euros, so I’m gonna have to go on this course, right?
How language skills are you?
60 minutes for a language that does not belong to your own language family is not much. Are there cheaper alternatives, such as a course at VHS?
In the beginning, I would say more hours, and if you are reasonably sure, you can still reduce.
But, Russian is just like German is part of the Indo-European language family, only they belong to different groups. If you can both languages well, you can immediately see the similarities.
Better buy a textbook, e.g. Assimil or Russian for self-learners from Langenscheidt. You have more of this, you can go to a course later if you want.
Just take an hour if it’s not enough, then two. And download an app like Duolingo. Don’t eat anything, but I guess it’s a lot. My father-in-law learns French and is totally enthusiastic.
Hey!
Rich? For what? Russian is an extremely difficult language to learn, already alone the grammar should be the Horro. I’m sure the Russian experts agree.
I would tend to advise more hours or group lessons.
