No, it doesn’t matter. In most cases, a federal contract runs for 24 months. Then the phone is paid off and you can switch the provider and tariff to a cheaper offer. An exception is, for example, o2, where you can “track” the cell phone rate (and only these) over 36 months. The total costs remain the same (if you cancel the mobile phone contract in time at least).

At the bottom of the line, this extension is hardly worth any. Mobile phone contracts may not have a longer minimum contract term than 24 months anyway.

Of course, you can use your phone for as long as it works. And hopefully these are more than 2 years 😀

An iPhone can now be used for at least 5 years without problems, as long as there are suitable security updates. Therefore, the technology is also designed for this duration – 3 years of use should not be a problem if there are no major accidents.

My iPhone (XS Max) has been working perfectly for 5 years and even gets an OS update this year.
