iPad Pro M4 display bends?
I have the iPad Pro M4 11" (ordered from O2 on July 2nd) and since I've been at school for a week or two and have been using the iPad now, I've noticed that the display can be "bent", especially when using the pen.
The edges and corners are relatively stiff and you don't notice it, but as soon as it gets more central the display bends very easily. You don't really notice anything when typing, as you don't normally apply that much pressure there anyway, but you do with the pen.
As soon as I press a little harder with my finger on the spots, I notice that it can be bent so far that it hits the back – not on the back of the case but, as I suspect, on the battery and the board.
Is this normal?
Do you have that too?
Should I contact O2 or accept it?
I have had very bad experiences with O2 and their repair service. Devices arrived damaged and they said that no fault had been found (I received this statement with my laptop at the time and my current AirPods Pro, even though there was definitely a defect or software error). Contact with them is absolutely rubbish – countless calls and emails over 1.5 months and no one can be reached, and when someone answers the call I am always forwarded 3-5 times and then they just hang up without any response.
I can't/don't want to be without my iPad for a week or two, as I use it daily for work, both for my studies and for studying. I also don't want a device that's been opened and tinkered with, so that wouldn't be a problem, but I don't want a new device at such an expensive price, one that was bought a month or a half ago and is relatively new on the market.
That’s normal. Materials absorb pressure by being slightly flexible, therefore tablets usually bend when pressing with the pin somewhat more firmly. That’s normal and I’ve noticed that so far on all tablets I had across several manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, Microsoft). With Microsoft it was the strongest thing, with my iPad Air4 I could see the internal structure correctly at some points of the display because the display has pressed against any components, but with my iPad Pro the problem is not really visible in top view. Maybe because it has an OLED display.
But don’t worry, Apple will be aware of this and the iPad will have designed to be broken within a few weeks because you use it as planned.
Cheers.
So if the iPad doesn’t bend due to the camera eye, that’s normal. Especially in the middle, all my iPad Pros have dropped to pressure. It’s not much, but noticeable. And present at my Pro M1, M2 and M4
So just take it?
You will not find a device where the display is completely stiff in the middle.
Okay, thanks for the answer. It’s a little further.
