iPad just shuts down?
Hello! My iPad Air (5th generation) has been shutting down for no reason for the past three days at about 10% battery. I'm using it normally, and then it just shuts off. When I restart it, the same thing happens unless I plug in the charger quickly. This is extremely annoying, and I would love to fix this issue.
Even a system update, which I hoped would fix the error, didn't help. I did the update yesterday, and just now the error reappeared.
Should I contact Apple Support, or is there any other simple solution to my problem?
I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the battery or anything else, but it's certainly possible.
I hope for helpful answers and thank you for reading 🙂
Do you use the iPad a little longer?
It may be necessary to recalibrate the battery of the iPad.
In the past, the following steps were taken:
You can repeat these steps again. Should at least be more effective.
I like to try that, thank you very much. Just to understand: If the iPad goes out automatically at ~10%, then I just calibrate it from the 10%, or how do I get it down to 0%?
The battery should be completely empty. Ideally, the iPad can no longer be switched on.
Probably the battery is already empty, only the iPad shows you a wrong battery value. When the iPad turns off, it is pointed out that the battery has to be charged?
Hm, it sounds like you have to recalibrate the battery. Did you do that?
Currently, your iPad can no longer measure the battery level correctly and therefore displays inaccurate values. By calibrating the iPad again knows when the battery is full or empty and should display a correct battery value again.
Just happened again, and no, it won’t. But when it turned off it was at exactly 23%, after restarting and plugging in to the charger are now only 12%. I don’t know what this is about.
This can be the battery, they don’t have to last for 10 years. Take it completely and try this tip: https://www.macwelt.de/article/1795248/ipad-akkukapazitat-prufen.html
Do not unload the battery so far, but load it early enough. 🤷
