IOS viruses?

Hey,

I watched a movie with my girlfriend on an illegal streaming site and I got a message a few times saying that my device had a virus.
As far as I know, this is the case with all streaming sites.

However, I downloaded this one movie and just deleted it from my files because I read that it could infect my iPad with a virus

What are the chances and what happens in the worst case scenario if my iPad gets a virus?

Viruses for iPads and iPhones are as good as impossible, for good reason there are also no real virus scanners for iOS.

Therefore, at least for iPhones, this is just a “Angstmachmeldung”. What if this has other consequences, not device-related, is on another sheet…

Something older, but still applies today:

The grounding principle of iOS prevents both viruses and effective virus scanners: Each app runs in its own sandbox, a completely insulated area. Therefore, neither viruses nor viruses can be active across the system. Avast can’t stop it, Apple prevents it. Read exactly what Avast can do.

The security concept of Apple, iOS is widely praised as very good.

So save yourself the Avast-Reichmach-Abo!

Wrong question!
Correct would be: “Since when is a browser a virus scanner?” (Get it?) 😉

All iPhones have a high virus protection.

0.00%, nothing can be installed in iOS, which is not from the app store.

What you saw is a simple pop-up window.

And that’s why you can’t have a virus. A virus could not install.
