Dichromate+hydrogen sulfide-> chromium ions+ elemental sulfur -> what is the redox and how are the chromium ions charged?
Hello everyone. I was heating sealing wax in a pot. When it started to smoke, I took the pot off the heat and wanted to pour the liquid wax into another container. When I tilted the pot, the wax started to burn. Can someone explain to me why? Nothing else happened; I'm just curious why…
Please just tell me what I need to calculate. I'm grateful for any answers.
What approach should one follow? How can one understand it?
If you know how to do that, you don’t need to guess. You have given 3 elements which preferably form cations and 3 which preferably form anions. You just have to combine them in the right relationship.
So for example Na and O. Na forms Na^+ and O forms O^2. So give Na2O.
That’s what NaCl is thinking. Na+, Cl-
