internship compensation?
Hello
I applied for a job and was verbally selected that day. I told the manager that same day that I needed to have an interview. So she called me four days later. I didn't sign anything. On the phone, I said that I wasn't sure and that I'd like to do an internship before I started there, and that there was someone there with whom I'd had problems with bullying. So it was confirmed and I was given an internship for two weeks. Nothing formally was signed. I was just asked to sign a confidentiality agreement because of data protection and so on. After two days of the internship, I realized that I didn't want to do it and had a conversation. During the interview, I was put under complete emotional pressure. They constantly wanted to know why not. I said that I didn't want to comment, that it was just how it worked out for me and that I wanted to end this. Nevertheless, they continued to ask me whether I knew beforehand whether I didn't want to do this (did they want to get something out of me so they could take legal action against me -> compensation?). I also said I didn't want an internship for nothing, and within the two days, I realized, no, this isn't the company. They constantly wanted to know why not and didn't respect that I didn't want to do this, and they got one answer: the company as a whole and many other things in general.
They wanted to know where I wanted to go now and whether I already had a place somewhere else (sometimes I said yes but I'm still looking) -> I had the feeling the whole time that they were trying to get something out of me
I didn't get paid for the internship and it was voluntary because I requested it and didn't want to sign any contract straight away.
Are there any legal consequences?
No, it doesn’t have legal consequences and you interpret too much.
You seem to really want to know what’s wrong with you. You had already displayed a person early. Maybe you already have a suspicion and want to confirm that. Perhaps there are others who have expressed themselves similarly incorrectly about this person.
If you do an internship in an enterprise with the aim that it may become an employment contract – then it is in the interest of the AG to find out why you decided against it. Thus he may have the opportunity to improve things.
Why you didn’t want to answer that objectively and honestly? Your decision.
Damage compensation – what damage could have happened? Not more.
You can only remember your name and no longer take into account in future applications. But you’d have to write an application. ;
