interactive history website?

Hello, it was many years ago that there was a website (or more) where you started a story and then had two options: either there was a new section with two options or you could (continue) writing your own.

It was very simply structured, probably HTML because it was redirected via hyperlink or a new page was created.

Does anyone know what it was called or if something like that still exists?

Greetings Mario

I also know these kinds of books. I don’t know a website of this kind. But there are “interactive books.” There are questions and tasks within a story. And according to and You Decisions, takes the story a Other Way (for example, a good or a bad end). .

In digital form, this is a kind of text adventure, in printed form it is called a solo adventure. The former usually works completely independently, the latter can be combined with rules of games. In the first place, the whole can be made more or less complex; either one gives a linear story with a limited number of choices, or one actually offers the opportunity to move freely and to influence places of action.

Example for first (exemplary presentation for adventure with HTML and CSS): https://inf-schule.de/content/1_information/1_information representationinternet/2_html-css/5_projekt/schloss.html

Example for the latter (analogous to RPG control): https://www.chaosium.com/content/FreePDFs/CoC/Adventures/CHA23145%20%20Alone%20Against%20the%20Flames.pdf

There are some such books on Belletristica. I don’t know if it’s exactly what you’re looking for. But the books are well written and very entertaining. The problem: The forum will increase at the end of the year and will not accept new registrations. A follow-up forum is in work, but it still takes.

So I like to read and write stories on Wattpad or Fanfiction. These are really cool sites.
