But what I can tell you from real life:
It was scary to unsubscribe from Germany, that was just a short visit to the local registration office with a form that confirms the registration with the basic extension from the EU. The German tax office sends a call for a tax return to my former address in Germany, where family members are still alive and I confirm this once again with my employment contract abroad and the always valid residence card with address. One is satisfied and recognizes this until the next time.
