Increasing number of shops without card payments?

Why are smaller businesses (hair salons, kiosks, retailers, etc.) increasingly no longer accepting card payments? I've noticed that I'm seeing more and more signs in such stores stating, "Sorry, no card payments accepted."

I have the impression that there are now more and more acceptance points in Germany. It is also used more and more by people

However, there are also shops that consciously only want cash payment – why always. Be it for ideological reasons, for tax reasons, to attract a certain client or because you do not want to deal with digital cqhlung.

In order to avoid discussions in the shops, it is suspended directly at the entrance from the very beginning.

Because the fees are too high for some. I often have the same problem, it bothers me very much as I actually just want to pay cashlessly

I don’t think I’ll find cash much harder. For example, I was robbed of 200 euros in cash. A card is quickly locked. On small money are quite a lot of germs, also the problem I deal with with that I only have my own card in my hand.

If you mean. There are people who need to make the others feel better. So good improvement

I don’t, I’ll pay with card

Easier to fix than if you have to do with a fraudulent person, then there is often a statement against statement

That is another positive point that comes to this, which I have not considered. Of course you can’t be beaten over your ear

Yeah, you can’t always go shopping, so I prefer it that I don’t have to do it at all.

Hello,

I can’t confirm it’s getting less. Example are 3 baker shops in 200m environment and in all 3 I can pay consistently for some time. There is no store/guest place in my surroundings where it is not possible.

Best regards from Leipzig

Why are you embarrassed? It doesn’t have to do with honor.

AlterLeipziger

Why? I only have my phone with it – nothing else to pay….who doesn’t sell any revenue….

Ups. Sorry, should go to the questioner.

I didn’t say that!

What is embarrassing about it? It’s easier, faster and more hygienic. “Contact” does not require the smartphone and there is a display and charger against empty battery.

Beautiful light festival! We also always have a tailbow from the Ore Mountains – Saxony keeps the tradition (up to cash – 😉)

Yeah, all right. Know some people along with relationship – so I understand you…

What do you have for a tube when the juice goes out all the time? By the way, I’m going with Bimmel and Bus!

I don’t live in the Taiga but in Leipzig/Sachsen

because up to 5% of card payments are payable to the payment system company as fees

because the dealer can then sell less black

Because every transaction costs money.

Well, there are also packages…

As far as I know each transaction costs – plus flat-rate basic fee.

Cash costs anyway. I haven’t seen a card payment here for a long time. Of course there are these people, but there is more and more preference without cash. It doesn’t just mean to offer both.

It’s cost. I only know one bakery (small chain) that offers card payment.

But you must also see that many people do not want to pay cards at all, but rather use cash.

No, there are also flat rates with included sales volumes. Take advantage of bakeries, for example, so that not every package of transactions costs.

Right, just as a trader you also have costs for cash (transport, deposit, change), and the security aspect. There’s not much.

They just see a certain amount of austerity.

Well, that’s nothing new.

Well, that’s the advantage of cash. If the customer does not need proof, pressing the cancellation button is not a problem.

I didn’t say. It’s just that it’s often done. There is also no plausible reason to refuse the card payment. The costs are approximately equal, the card payments are safer and the billing is more straightforward.

The number of acceptance points for card payment or other cashless systems is constantly increasing. Who claims something else is probably one of the right facts
