Increase engine capacity on a scooter/moped?

I own a 50cc scooter that can legally go 45 km/h. I now have a Class A driver's license and wanted to keep my current scooter rather than buy a new one, as I've grown fond of it.

What do I need to do to increase the displacement? New engine? New pistons?

Or should I buy a new machine?

There are sets with a higher displacement. Of course, you have to let the whole thing go, which is expensive.

If you want a good advice, you’ll make a nice trip with your scooter, sell it in good hands and create a nice machine that you can drive now.

It is not done by mounting “simple” a larger cylinder and piston…

These parts would have to be there for your scooter first, then you will probably need another crankshaft, which then has larger bearings that do not fit into the engine….

Even if you would not need any other crankshaft, you would have to have another exhaust and carburetor and would probably not get the scooter removed from the TÜV because your brakes are not designed for the then achievable speed….

I’m sorry, but it’s like that.
