In the VRR with an additional ticket to Venlo?
Hello,
I have a question for all Düsseldorfers 🙂
I have a VRR-Ticket1000 for Düsseldorf.
Now I'm planning to take the regional train from Düsseldorf to Venlo (NL) in the near future.
Is it true that I would only need to purchase an additional VRR ticket (for €3.80) per route? The additional ticket extends my VRR 1000 ticket to the entire VRR network area, which also includes Venlo (even though it's in the Netherlands), so that should work, right? 🙂
That would seem cheap to me 🙂 But is that really true?
I would be very grateful for help with this question 🙂
Many greetings and thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about this and writes to me 🙂
Yeah, I can.
For journeys from the VRR room to Venlo, the VRR tariff applies, and as for any other destination in the VRR that can be reached with price level D, only one additional ticket is required as a supplement to an existing time ticket (such as ticket 1000).
You can also drive to Arnhem, for example.
Thank you for your help! This answer is that you can actually go there with an additional ticket, of course I like to hear 🙂 that is then really cheap to drive from Düsseldorf to Venlo! Also interesting is that you can also drive to Arnhem. Then there are two NL cities to explore by train here from West NRWs:-)
What about the additional ticket purchase for the return journey? Is the additional ticket also available at the machine in NL? (I think the additional ticket is only valid for four hours, so I don’t think you can buy it at the vending machine during longer trips, do I?)
Many greetings and thanks:-)
The third goal is also to reach Nijmegen with VRR tickets, but only from Emmerich or Kleve by bus (line SB 58).
There are Venlo and Arnhem at VRR-Automaten station for the purchase of return tickets.
Thank you for your reply 🙂 This is great that there are VRR cars for return journeys and the ticket is valid until Nijmegen:-) Many greetings and a beautiful day!
Venlo is indeed part of the VRR. I mean, you need two extra tickets per direction.
No, that’s not true.
Thank you for your answer! I’ll try it out soon and give it back here! Have a nice day!
I tried it now and the trip to Venlo worked well with an additional ticket per route:-) thank you again for the helpful answers here! I can recommend the trip to Venlo, really worth it! Beautiful small town with Dutch flair and good for shopping!
I would have liked a question:
Is the trip to Nijmegen (with VRR additional ticket) bound to certain trains/buses?
Correction:
In my question, just in the comment, I was sadly tempted.
I wanted to ask if the trip with VRR additional ticket to ARNHEM is bound to specific train/bus
