If you emigrate from Germany to Switzerland it takes several years to get a passport, about 12 years.
Could I emigrate to Switzerland to work there, to raise money, and then emigrate to the USA? I mean, I could go to the USA before I get Swiss citizenship, assuming everything goes smoothly with visas, etc.

It’s not automatic that you get the passport after 12 years, but you have to apply for it.
So I mean you can apply for it after 12 years because you could apply for it 1 year after emigration and you get it?
