Ignition lock changed, 2 new keys?

I had the ignition lock on my Hyundai i 20 replaced because it was defective.

It was replaced but I received two new keys just for the ignition lock, a whopping €300 for that.

Couldn't you have used my two old working keys, which I now use to lock the car, and calibrated them to the new ignition lock?

In some car manufacturers, the locks have numbers and the manufacturer can then make a new lock that fits the old locks.

Of course, if you go to a free workshop, then it can be those who have no access and only get a new lock with new keys.
