Something about my current P&P characters.
One of the series I’m on anyway, pretty gloomy SF/F mixture I’ve been getting pregnant for a long time. The “money” is forced to become President of the United States (was definitely not his idea!), and then it becomes slanted and slanted.
Another idea: a parallel world with a “good” Hitler. I’m MTL, so I work in a hospital lab. And pretty much every one of us has any stories about strange patients and doctors, about absurd sample requirements and reactions from people from private life, stories from school, etc. With pictures, maybe a few cartoons…

Through my work (a research project on Polish forced laborers in Hesse, which I just support) I have encountered a case in the Arolsen archives by killing a forced laborer about my age in 1942 by Nazis in a village of my closeness.

How are you going to a crime? Are you building a scaffold? or do you think of a case that actually existed in the past? What are your steps?
Yeah, a rough scaffold, so I know where I’m going.
Then as detailed as possible. For me, it is imperative that the history of logic is absolutely waterproof. I also try to be as realistic as possible. So both in the “Taten” and motives, as well as in the reactions and actions of the people. So don’t save James Bond and world or action á la Bruce Willis. More like the little Ganoven or Otto normal citizen who comes into a situation that escalates.
Then the first version, the second, third… beta readers and then maybe (hopefully) finished.
And no, no real cases, just my fictional story.
