If I have any doubts, can I cancel my dual study program at FH Aachen without incurring any costs?
I'm interested in a dual study program at Aachen University of Applied Sciences to become a mathematical-technical software developer, or MATSE for short. I actually had very good high school diplomas with an average grade of 1.3 and even earned a special learning achievement. But after 12 years of school, I now want to do something more practical, and my special learning achievement has also given me a taste for it.
Nevertheless, I can't shake the feeling that with my good Abitur grades, I should perhaps also graduate from a prestigious university.
Can I discontinue my studies at FH Aachen if I would rather study at a university, or do I have to pay back tuition fees from my internship partner for the dual study program?
Is the degree from RWTH Aachen simply much more worthwhile and should I do it instead, or does it ultimately matter where I did my computer science studies?
A dual study program is also a great entry into the professional world for you.
If you don't find your studies challenging enough – that may be the case, but it doesn't have to be, as the professional world offers challenges even for the brightest minds – then simply do a master's degree at university afterwards.
You may have to retake a few theoretical modules from your bachelor's degree, but in practice, no one will fool you. You'll have a much better understanding of many modules because you're already familiar with the application and the challenges involved, and you'll be able to connect the dots.
Good luck!
PS: The university or company can tell you the termination conditions; it will certainly be stated in the contract (although the reality may be different).
