Any ideas on how to beautify this piece of wood?
Hello!
I found this driftwood in a lake. Now it's completely dried out…
The special thing about this wood is that it's made of real stone! I'd like to make something out of it, but I don't know what… Do you have any ideas? Just tell me what you think of. I'm completely open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Here is a photo with a DIN A4 pad so you know how big it is☺️⬆️⬆️
I think the piece of driftwood is so great on a shelf as decoration. Possibly that wood only coats with linseed oil, for example (protects against moisture and gives a somewhat darker look) and then simply put it down. A glass or cut with sand/beach would also be good. :
leave it as it is and just frame it.
because if you miss the look you want, you can tell so much and you don’t get it.
I would “smooth” it at most in a few places with fine sandpaper, otherwise nothing.
I think it’s gonna lose his character if you’re making too much of it.
You could pour it into a block of synthetic resin and put a lamp behind it, which gives a beautiful room decoration
Cut off at the end of the stone, screw on a plate, mill a pear top, place the cables behind and already you have a table lamp. If you don’t want to make a lamp, leave the frame and you have a nice decoration piece.
I see a seahorse that wants out of wood – help him a little….
