Any ideas for a story with a banshee?
Do you have any ideas? I'm currently trying to gather as many story ideas as possible with friends about different creatures. This time it's about banshees (or, in German, "banshees"). So, a woman who becomes one, transforms back into one, is a hybrid creature, or something similar.

For those who don't know what they are, they are women who were murdered and now live on as a kind of ghost. According to Irish belief, every family has a banshee, and they herald the death of a family member.

A dramatic story of the royal family
I always think it depends on which direction you want to go with the whole thing, whether it should be more modern-comedian, or perhaps more historically and somewhat worn and of course also who should actually be the main character.
One can always take hero XY, who hangs at the family seat in Ireland and hears the scream of the Banshee and then try to offer the dark powers somehow a pact to save the deceitful.
But one can also say, let’s make the Banshee the main figure and see what’s going on.
I’d think of the following: Our banshee has hit it quite badly… it was murdered by someone, but it came to the wowish idea that she can no longer speak or shout (was possibly a bit superstitious)… and this is the problem… because without her banshee scream, who announces death, the members of her family will live a fairly long life (which is then of course in a corresponding power development)
Our Banshee is apparently also a very fine Banshee, which is why she knows about all these great heroes from earlier times, who were practically all invulnerable/immortal… until they were no longer. And that she sees as parallel to herself (possibly also here with a corresponding historical anecdote) that they probably also had a mute banshee behind them… but this has somehow regained their voice, so that they could finally announce and bring death to them.
So our Banshee is getting on the way to find out how she gets her voice back and finally keeps her back. Either because she wants to do this herself or possibly. also because the dark powers or simply death or destiny make their pressure, because a family lives and lives and lives and NIEMALS someone dies… that must not be in an orderly world.
As you can see… I thought it was a little bit more comic, but of course you can make the idea more serious. Then it comes to how you put all this up, but I see you again and again here in the ‘writing’ theme, you’re not completely new, I don’t have to tell you that.
