Idea for book setting?

Hello,

I'm planning to write a book. My head is currently full of ideas, but I can't write them down without first having a setting for the story.

I don't plan on publishing or finishing the story, I just want to get these ideas out of my head.

A rough outline of the story: it's going to be a cliché prison. A woman who's permanently engaged and then breaks up with her fiancé (I haven't decided why yet, but he'll probably cheat on her and she'll find out at an event). After that, she gets closer to another man, who she probably already knows, but maybe hasn't had much contact with yet (a cliché here would be if he's her boss).
That's the cliché story, but I really wanted the characters to have a reason to dress well. So, not just a run-of-the-mill blouse or shirt, but something more. I would also have to add an event where there's dancing. But I think it would be stupid to set the whole story in the past, because I want to give the woman a strong character and let her work.

My idea would be to choose a company that has several groups. That way, all three of us could work there without meeting every day. However, I don't know much about companies and would be very grateful for a good description.

I am grateful for any suggestion!

How about a management company specializing in organizing luxurious events? Here you can integrate your ideas for clothes and dance events. The main character could then work as an event manager, for example, and be responsible for the planning and execution of these events. The company would have several departments (e.g. marketing, finance, personnel…). By doing so, you could put the other man with whom the main character is friends in another department to make sure they don’t have to see each day

Some people also have birthdays or other celebrations organized by organizers. I was even invited by acquaintances to a professional birthday party of their dog, where music was placed, a buffet was set up and there were lots of decorations. As it seems that some people have too much money and time, you could let your imagination run free!

that the characters have a reason to dress well.

The easiest thing would be, in my opinion, a fashion label.

My idea would be to choose a company that has some groups.

  • There would be the creative department, the artists, the extroverts etc.
  • The distribution would always be tough, somehow like Teflon everything perishes, every problem is simply smiled away.
  • In contrast, for example, the financial department. All always solid in dark blue or black suits, all black leather shoes all just the best materials all but the most expensive names but no trace of individuality all kind like the “time thief” from Michael Ende “Momo”

I would also have to add event where to dance.

Of course the success in the presentation of the current Skin Couture Collection must be celebrated extensively in a Nobelclub.

I don’t know how thick you want to apply, but maybe some of the action could play on the Vienna Opera Ball, for example.
