iCloud Speicher?

Old backups are replaced with new backups. If you have deleted something, it will no longer be stored in the backup. It is also normal that the size of the backups varies somewhat

What would be the perfect conversion of “data synchronization without versioning” – and the term “backup” is at best misunderstandable. 🤔

Apple might have cleaned temporary files or older backups on your iCloud account to release storage space. This usually happens automatically to ensure that your iCloud storage is used efficiently.

It is unlikely that data will be deleted without your knowledge.

The backup does not really store everything to save space. For example, apps only store the metadata, after recovery they will be reloaded. If you delete a large app, the data you have learned in it are deleted as well and how much space is suddenly free.

Naja – the actual function of iCloud is No Backup but data synchronization.

Maybe you can check if data you deleted on iPhone is still in the iCloud. 🤔

Each iDevice is set by default so that automatically backups are stored in the iCloud, which is their elementary task besides synchronization.

In this case, you need to ask Apple directly.
They only know the internal logic of their systems. (Hopeful!)

I have my reasons why I would not rely on Apple, Google or Microsoft cloud services to ensure that the data is truly secure. At least not alone.

So I understand that it is necessary for the user to manually set this (first time) for a correct backup with versioning?

No. iPhones and iPads are automatically configured to load backups to the iCloud when the device is connected to a WLAN and connected to the power supply to the charging network, so no dummy risk will run in case of a case without backup. If the iCloud is full (standard unfortunately only 5 GB, more costs) the oldest backup will be deleted so space for new ones. In short, you don’t have to do anything to have backups.

Or is this more like a kind of synchronization with deletion after 30 days, which is sometimes sold as a “backup”?

No, it’s as described above.

Only automatic backups are good backups.

Right – whataWhy I changed from iOS to Android some time ago: more specific and automated backups – here e.g. B. withfolder.

Well, as described, iDevices basically have backups with all data without doing their own. However, there are not few eggs to be my smarter than the hen and disable it. Here regularly read a la

I’ve been working with the iCloud for a while.

This would at least fit into the picture if “simply” reduced the amount of data. 🤔

Better fit my requirements.

Can everyone keep as he wants. I prefer to make backups locally. But has nothing to do with the main functions of iCloud – automatic backups and data synchronization. Only automatic backups are good backups.
