Must they be from a special company?

No, as long as you avoid the noname cheapdinger, the manufacturer doesn’t care.

In principle, you should be careful if the disk is significantly cheaper for its capacity than devices of known brands such as Samsung, Crucial or Western Digital.

Does it matter if it’s an SSD or HDD?

SSDs are to be preferred, in common capacities these are easily affordable and significantly faster.

HDDs are then an option if you need a lot of storage space for a data grave.

Is it possible to have three hard drives installed in the PC?

Yeah, and even more until you get out of the connection options. With extension cards a few dozen hard drives/SSDs would be possible.

SSD should be due to writing and reading speed

As many as your motherboard has available to Sata slots usually there are 4-6

I prefer HDDs, Western Digital, Seagate records have been broken in the past.

And at WD I use either the Red Line or the Blue Line. In my storage server, I only have the Red Line records in it. 9x 8TB in RAID5.

In my main computer I use 2 Crucial 2TB NVMe SSDs in RAID0.

Hello!

No, the company/brand doesn’t matter. Buy but ordinary branded goods and no cheap China noname scrap. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive. It must be sufficient for the application and your needs.

In principle, it doesn’t matter whether SSD or HDD, but it depends on your wishes and budget. Also for data security/restoration, performance there are differences between SSD, HDD and combinations thereof. There are also M2 NVMe SSD etc.

Furthermore, classic HDDs are cheaper than SSD. Especially if you need space internally, for example. A 4TB HDD costs less than a 4TB SSD. However, an SSD/HDD with less storage space is also sufficient for the system plate. You should anyway separate the operating system from other data (backups etc.).

An HDD has rotating, mechanically sensitive parts. Be warm. Although an SSD is also sensitive, it does not become so hot and has no rotating parts. If an SSD fails (HDD usually keep longer, pure physics) or the controller has something, then you have a problem. It’s not always that bad with the HDD. For data backup, you cannot delete an SSD to 100%. Even by manufacturer’s own commands and tools, an SSD will never be able to be deleted 100% safely. HDDs can continue to delete “safe” if you sell the PC or it is generally about data protection.

Access times are much better with an SSD. Writing/reading (data throughput) is also better at the SSD.

You can also install 10 or 20 hard drives in your PC. Make sure that different interfaces share the bandwidth with other interfaces. That can be. Depending on the chipset, motherboard and CPU there are Bottlenecks.

In this respect, I would always take a look into the manual.

I have made good experiences with “Seagate” HDD hard drives and can highly recommend them.

For classic 2.5″ SSD and NVMe I recommend brand manufacturers.

Note that you have sufficient space for installation and sufficient SATA power and data cables. Emergency an adapter. You can also install additional cages/holders or an interchangeable frame to install additional hard drives.

For example, I have interchangeable frames (both NVMe and classic SSD), as I can get to the plates quickly from the outside or “exchange” them in case of Bedard/beim failure.

I’m sorry for the many information, but that’s so spontaneous.

Company doesn’t matter, but I respect the principle, who buys cheap, buys twice. That’s why look more at the established brands, Samsung, Western Digital.

Depending on the board, you can install up to 6 SATA hard drives in a cut and additionally up to 3 directly on the board via the M2 slots.

I wouldn’t buy HDDs anymore, but grab them directly to SSDs. The price difference is no longer that big, but the quality difference is enormous.

Installation is basically not a big thing. But if you don’t have any experience, you should first make it with someone who can.

Hello,

Must they be from a special company? I

Not really. Does however OEM devices with restrictions

Does it matter if it’s an SSD or HDD?

Yes, with a SSD for most purposes now. Depending on the model, prices are really competitive for HDD

Is it possible to have three hard drives installed in the PC?

Yes, if the motherboard has enough connections

You need to know which interface you have and whether there is a space left or you need at least more cable or even an extra controller.

An SSD still fits somewhere in the housing and is sufficiently vibration-resistant to not have to worry about storage, only too hot should it not be.

SSD fast but rather low capacity HDD is rather a slow datagrab. If you want to archive TB-Weise images or videos rather ne HDD if you want to install games rather ne SSD.

SSD is slower than HDD
