I went to the ophthalmologist: Over the years, possible changes in eye values/refractive values: measurement errors or natural-realistic?
So I already know what the values mean in detail.

My question concerns the change over the years. I was
every 2 years at the ophthalmologist, results were/are the following:
February 15, 2020
Sphere: left -5.50 – right -2.75
Cylinder: left -0.75 – right -1.75
Axis: left 125° – right 168°
04.04.2022
Sphere: left -6.50 – right -3.25
Cylinder: left -0.75 – right -1.25
Axis: left 145° – right 176°
March 7, 2024
Sphere: left -5.75 – right -3.25
Cylinder: left -0.75 – right -0.75
Axis: left 123° – right 163°
(Pupillary distance: 35mm on both sides; this will normally always remain the same, right?)
I mean, natural values improve or worsen in the same direction, right?
But here the sphere on the left first increased, then decreased again!
And the same goes for the left and right axes!
Could that be possible? Should I have another eye doctor take another measurement before ordering glasses?
Does anyone here have in-depth knowledge of this area?

I would not make a vision test for new spectacle lenses with the ophthalmologist, but with an optician who is actually the expert in charge of this and who measures them more precisely than is the case with most eye doctors.
I go to the ophthalmologist only to check-ups due to the increased risk of diseases of the eyes (possible retinal damage, glaucoma and so on) due to my little short-sightedness. I never do a test of a new glasses.
My ophthalmologist perfectly measures the spectacle values, but not every ophthalmologist is as good in determining the visual acuity as it can be an optician.
In any case, I would have the optics check again.
Often, minimal fluctuations in the visual values are also dependent on the shape of the day.
Go to the optician on a rested, stress-free day.
Good luck.
Go to the optician, make a visual test there, let yourself be advised there and make the glasses there.
As your vision varies, go to the ophthalmologist every year.
I want to order the glasses online!
Buy the glasses at the good optician!!! He can adapt the glasses to your eyes and glasses exactly on your nose.
Onlineshop cannot. You can’t hurt your eyes and car driving with online glasses.
Nevertheless, the question can be that biologic at all?!??
