There you have to decrypt the SD card. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense if it’s encrypted, and someone is wasting your SD card and he could still grab your pictures.

No. As for you first have to decrypt it, or enter password depending on how the SD card was encrypted/protected. So you can grab the pictures. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to be able to grasp whether it was encrypted.
