I need chemistry topics that I can present to the class?
My chemistry teacher told us to choose a chemistry topic and present it to the class. Can anyone suggest an interesting topic to present to the class?
The reaction between bromine and an unsaturated fatty acid involves electrophilic addition. Saturated fatty acids don't react because they don't have double bonds. However, we've now learned that saturated fatty acids can also react with bromine under high energy input or intense light irradiation. My question now is how this happens/where the bromine attaches.
I had to treat my wooden wardrobe with chlorine yesterday because of mold. The room still smells of chlorine, but I'd actually like to oil the wood today. Can I do that, or will there be any interactions with the chlorine?
