I have an Android phone. Is it worth buying an iPad?
Hello,
I have an Android phone and would like to get an iPad or tablet. I want to use it for school and for drawing. I'm currently leaning toward an iPad because it's easier to get files from teachers via AirDrop at school, rather than more complicated methods (like Teams or a screenshot from a friend). So my question is, is it better to get an iPad or not, since I have an Android phone?
From my point of view, an iPad can also be used very well with an Android smartphone.
I use my iPad much more with my MacBook. From my point of view, there are much more meaningful functions from the Apple ecosystem.
I also have an iPhone as a 2nd device. A few advantages the iPhone has compared to my Android main device already when it comes to the interplay of devices.
Point 1 I use more on iPad and MacBook. Mostly it is for GoodNotes documents. Then I don’t have to search the document on the second device.
At point 2, I already have my own cloud and NAS, where I can copy data via network. With large files it is not so ideal. Data exchange between smartphone and tablet also rarely happens with me. Of course, you can also use public cloud providers. Google Photos and a similar NAS Photos app will also be added.
3. You can also simply get the Android smartphone out and start the hotspot there. Then the iPad can also connect to it.
Point 4: I rarely use. Maybe because I usually only have my Android smartphone. Since I activated the automatic PDF export to OneDrive in GoodNotes, I could also retrieve the PDF there. Editing would not be possible, but I only rarely want it on the smartphone.
Maybe I forgot points, but that would be the ones I noticed. Point 3 should be the best advantage from my point of view.
A great advantage with me is also good equipment of cloud or Network memory, which makes data exchange work easily.
Just because you have an Android smartphone, you should keep away from iPad. So if an iPad meets your needs, as already writes, then grab.
Doesn’t matter if you have an Android phone or not, but just to draw and write an iPad is better(or the apps that exist for it). The main differences are then stop that you can not use already purchased apps on your Android smartphone on iPad or can buy them again. Apple iCloud does not exist for Android if I remember correctly, then you would otherwise have to copy the data to your smartphone or PC if you need the data (Gooel rive, Onedrive, Teams etc.). You also need iTunes on PC if you want to copy data from iPad to PC.
Alternatively, you could still look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6/S7/s8 devices, I have a Galaxy Tab S6 myself and am satisfied with it, but use the pen to write rather rarely because I still have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7.
I also have an iPad (provided by the city) at school and an Android phone. Actually, you don’t have to transfer anything to the phone and vice versa, but if that should be the case, you can use pairdrop.net or something like iserv (if you have this) 😊
Otherwise, make it easier (if many iPads have) if you can share files via airdrop.
It’s your decision, I think you can better assess it yourself. If you have an Android tablet, you can transfer files via Bluetooth.
