I can't save electricity?
Since I'm on the basic utility plan, the lady from the electricity provider told me I should transfer a fixed amount every month. I think it's around €80… regardless of how much electricity I use. Why is this the case for me?
The 80 euros are the monthly discount payment, i.e. an advance payment. When the year is over, you get the bill. Then you can see how much you've spent and what that cost over the year.
If you have paid more in advance than you have spent, you will get the difference back. If you've spent more, you'll have to pay the difference afterwards. In this case, the discount payment will be recalculated and this amount will have to be paid monthly.
The 80 euros should help you not have to pay so much at once at the end of the year or even get something back.
Because this is the case with every provider.
You simply pay an estimated turnover and at the end of the billing period, the consumption is read and exactly what you actually used. Then you either have to repay something, or if you've already paid too much, you'll get something back.
Right. And what do I get back? I even had to pay 24 duro after 1 year
Whether you get something back or whether you need to pay something depends on your burn. There is a bill once a year.
I've already got to pay back, too.
I say that the exact consumption will be charged. And at 960,-€ prepayments I find it very well appreciated if actual consumption only deviates by 24,-€.
Depends on what you had to use to repay them usually raise the amount for the next year.
Not for everyone, but in backward Germany still as usual. Some people from other countries are wondering.
On the other hand, smart meters with monthly billing have been standard for more than 10 years.
Is that really so backwards? In a normal household, consumption is always very similar. Then why 12x a year?
Did I say that it belongs to Germany right? If it works so better with you, wherever it is, in your opinion, it is also in your own right.
Two ways in which both have their advantages and disadvantages, but one can still apply next to one another.
Outdated infrastructure: Probably, here are a few more meters to exchange than in your small country. The network operators are busy and as far as I know, there is also a time limit. The real problems in the German electricity grid are quite different and not the counters.
Sure, that's why everyone is doing it wrong and only Germany does it right. In no way is the infrastructure simply completely outdated and you work with decades of old counters. Sichi.
Why not the correct amount? Even from the point of view of the electricity traders, despite digitization, this is a quite simple thing as it is now. If I just think about how many complaints are coming from the hotlines, once again the bill is higher than in the month before. They create a lot of work from their neck in the conventional way.
You pay 12 times a year, why not the correct amount instead of an estimate, where must be corrected in the end?
But of course, in Germany you always have any alleged reasons why you want to do everything like 30 years ago.
Why are you still in basic care? Of course you have a high electricity price and 80 € per month are really a lot.
Find a cheaper provider. If you're really economical at power consumption, you can get 35 to 50 € per month.
It is possible to change the monthly advance payment. For this, however, it is necessary to read out its current meter and pass through the stand, so that the provider can then calculate how high the costs will be expected after 1 year.
You misunderstood that. This is a debit payment and it will be charged once a year after counter reading. If so common in Germany, monthly bills are available only with Smartmeter tariffs.
If you get unlimited electricity for 80 euros, that would be fantastic, that cannot be.
Right
Is that too expensive for the first person? A month? Don't use anything.
I think that's a lot for 1 person. We are two and pay 131 euros, which is already extremely much in my opinion. Half the electricity costs go to the two heaters in the bathroom and in the kitchen, unfortunately
So you don't get electricity billing?
How are the counters in your house?
No
I also think you misunderstood it. Look at you in the cellar when you have your own and the not smart thing is you get a bill. Theoretically you have unlimited power.
You pay 80€ per month x 12 are 960€ per year and then the difference whether plus or minus of your annual consumption will be deducted and this amount will be paid after or you will get back
