Hypothyroidism questions medication?

I have a question: can you get nodules if you have an underactive thyroid? I take tablets and have a blood test and an ultrasound. Why are both being done?

Calcium deposits in the thyroid, also known as autonomous adenomas, are a common symptom of thyroid disease. A complete examination is required to determine whether it is a harmless "cold" lump or something cancerous.

I was diagnosed with such an adenoma as a young adult. Because it essentially "grew" inward and began to press on my trachea, my thyroid was removed. During surgery, small and tiny adenomas were found throughout my thyroid…that would have caused long-term problems. Nobody needs an "internal" goiter that impedes airflow.

I only know one doctor who is knowledgeable about thyroids, and that is Dr. Rieger.

Please ask your doctor about this afterwards.
