How long does a hoof bruise last?
Hello everyone
I have a horse, he is barefoot.
He's always been barefoot now. Last Thursday I came back from riding and he was very sensitive and a bit lame. It's Monday now and he's still limping. My stable owner thinks it's a bruised hoof, which is why he had shoes put on on Friday. As I said, he's still limping. Can I help or speed up the healing process? He's not completely lame, but you can see it a bit when he trots. He's been in his box for two days now. How long will it be until I can ride again and move him.
thanks in advance
I’m also one of those people who have more than stashed when I read your question. Your stable owner suspects a hoofing and the therapy for it is an iron to nail…. Sorry, but no matter how horse knowledge Your stable owner is also – but X-ray eyes don’t have it either.
And the distinction between a “simple” hoof swelling, an infectious leather skin inflammation and a hoofabze is not really easy. Normally, the usual treatment methods are sprue associations, pit rest with a little lead on soft soil for 3-4 days, then a week-building step work and a lower feed unit, because the transition from an extended hoof swelling to stress relief can be flowing and if bacteria have penetrated, septic horn inflammation can occur, which must even be treated with antibiotics.
In fact, depending on the findings, orthopedic fittings and upholstery inserts are sometimes recommended by the veterinarian. But there must also be an actual finding that has been found clinically. To the pure guess of a horse expert, just nail iron under it, because the one who thinks that this horse is worse off without iron, I do not consider the right way.
Don’t misunderstand me – even I always put a lot of emphasis on the opinion of our stable owner. He is an extremely experienced horseman and with his diagnosis has often been properly positioned – yet he does not replace the veterinarian. He may be my sign and first point of contact in some situations, if I am insecure and need advice – but if my horse has what, then I will pick up the veterinarian and secure myself. And that’s exactly what you should do.
Good improvement on your horse.
many thanks to
he is now doing well 2 weeks of boxing rest a little step now he is allowed to couple again and does not smile anymore. I will naturally watch you next days!
Somehow it reads like you’re just riding. No word of the horse’s well-being.
A lot of gallops on what ground? Who had the idea with the iron? I’d rather have waited to see if it’s really a hoofing – although your description would suit it – and it’s better to do it first. Now the horse has pain AND may get used to the iron – congratulations… :/
Speaking of cure: please leave the animal the necessary time to be healthy! In addition, it would be useful to pick up a TA – which can then tell you what your horse has and how to treat it accordingly.
And next time you go to it hfftl calmer – Horses clad ride is crap!!!
first thanks for the answer. My horse is so my heart I am very sorry for him that he must stand inside now. had the stable owner. she thinks I’m supposed to wait now and if he doesn’t get better after a week then he won’t go ta?
If it were my horse, I wouldn’t wait with TA. And I wouldn’t have nailed iron right on the day… Is it really a hoofing you can try a sour wort dress.
If necessary, he’ll put an iron down to investigate better. He’s not responsible for the rest. You can do that yourself, your teacher, who had suggested that, ask for help or let the blacksmith come for it again…
Maybe.
Thank you
but do you think the veterinarian makes the irons back down?
What did the blacksmith do? With the pliers? That would be the TA. And he would also look, above all, whether it is really the hoof, what exactly it is at the hoof is, among other things, whether (also) a joint etc. is affected. He would give the horse painkillers, among others, the necessary treatment, depending on the findings.
I understood that the irons were made up on the day… I wrote that.
what should the ta do? exactly? and thanks 🙏 it was not done the same but next day iron on it
How long does it take to cure a swelling? Three days, three weeks, six weeks…? Depending on how strongly suevistbund as well you treat the corresponding part of the body.mda a horse is now standing on its hooves day and night, this can become long-lasting, or with too little consequent damage, just as in humans: Due to the forced uneven loading, other joints can suffer.
I was not trusted in the judgement of a riding teacher, but I was questioning the veterinarian. If your mind gets hurt during sports lessons, you don’t ask the sports teacher for advice, but the doctor.
Whether horseshoes are a good solution, I’d be annoying for the first time.
Puh.. Someone third party is absolutely no basis that it is a hoofing and you’re letting iron nail?
I hope for the horse that there is no joint participation that you are now getting through the iron.
so first it is the stallowner who has the warning and second he had already some and has never been well on stone
She knows? Does she have a training for the Huforthoped?
Just because he had something like that, it doesn’t have to be the same! If you break your foot, no one says, “Not so bad, she’s already hit the toe. That’s right”
Sorry – but what a stubborn.
iron on it, fascinate from a buzzing… when the horse has been running barhuf for years, it’s paralyzed because it has iron on it.
and what does tante veterinarian say?
nix, because not there. veterinarian order and ask him to bring a mobile radio.
he does not always run barhuf I had found out on all four irons
and – what does the veterinarian say?
It’s not my horse, so I don’t care. I’m just sorry if animals have such owners. Maybe it’s not going to die just before (I didn’t say) but do you have to let it suffer unnecessarily instead of just letting a TA come?
What’s that about? You got no money? No phone? No sense of responsibility?
it’s your horse. I’m not gonna cry if it’s gonna have to be blown up because of a dragged buzz.
some horses “do not be very strong” – they even run when they have not only broken themselves but torn off.
of therefore, “does not be very strong” I must have seen to evade it.
the stuss goes to the stall owner. to you only as long as you just let this happen to you. the money would have been better invested in the vet.
did you read the title of your question yourself?
I am really grateful for any answer but so unharmed to write go not. And my horse is not just before dying so calm down!
Super.. Just because the horse doesn’t stand on three legs, doesn’t it take TA?
You don’t need a doctor if you break your foot because you don’t die?
he was not yet lame
