How to set parking meter at 12 o'clock?

I'm going to park in a parking lot that has a two-hour parking limit. If I park there at 11:50, how do I set the time on the ticket so I don't get a ticket? I'll be back within two hours, but how do I set the time on the parking meter?

It is set to the nearest half hour after arrival. For example, if the car is parked at 4:05 p.m., the driver must set the parking disc to 4:30 p.m. Anything else is considered illegal and could result in a fine of between €20 and €40. The parking disc must also be positioned in the car so that it is easily readable from outside, ideally on the dashboard.

Hi, always round up to the nearest half hour:

11:50 am -> 12 pm
12:01 pm -> 12:30 pm.

You always set it to the nearest full or half hour.

So at 11:50 it's 12 o'clock. At 12:10 it's 12:30, and so on.

The parking meter is always set to the nearest half or full hour. In your case, it's 12:00.

In Germany, set forward to the nearest half hour, i.e. to 12:00.

In other countries this may be different, sometimes only to the nearest 15 minutes.

The clock is divided into two halves: 6 and 12. When the minute hand moves clockwise closer to 6, the next half-hour is set. When it passes 6, closer to 12, always moving clockwise, the next full hour is set.

Or you can do what I do with our cars and put something like that on them, then you don't have to worry about it at all and just park your car and the parking disc will do the rest.

Interesting mnemonic, but probably a bit too complicated for the average Joe. 🙂 It's actually much simpler.

Next time, capitalize the beginning of your sentence, and you'll get the "confirmed answer." 😉
